Dr. Sheikh-Ali earned her Medical degree at the University of Damascus, School of Medicine in 1999. She completed her internal medicine residency training at the Drexel University, College of Medicine, Philadelphia in 2005; and completed her endocrinology fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville in 2007.
She joined the faculty at the University of Florida, College of Medicine, of Jacksonville in 2007, where she became an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine and an Associate Program Director for the Division of Endocrinology Diabetes and Metabolism. In that position she trained future endocrinologists and internists on how to treat all aspects of endocrine related diseases. She has co-authored and edited numerous publications and books. She has presented educational talks nationally and internationally and has earned the University of Florida, College of Medicine’s Exemplary Teacher Award.
Dr. Sheikh-Ali is a compassionate and caring physician in addition to being a strong patient advocate. She was selected to be a part of 8 University of Florida physicians to conduct caring and communication courses, where she trained more than 360 University of Florida faculty, residents and fellows on patient centered caring and communication.
